Horary astrology is a branch of astrology. The word horary means of the hour. It works by logging the time when the querent asks a question or, better still, the better way is when the astrologer understands the question.
It was a Saturday morning, and the Mrs. could not find her expensive vision glasses. She searched high and low and got me to help. After searching the house high and low, she said to me, “You need to do a horary”. So, I cast a chart right then and there. The chart was for 18 March 2023, at 11:11:56 in Toronto.
The chart has Cancer on the Ascendant, which makes the Moon the ruler of the querent, my wife. The missing object is the ruler of the second house, which has Cancer on it and makes it also ruled by the Moon. The Moon is ruling both the quiseted, or the object, and the querent, my wife. This strongly suggests that the object is with her.
The ninth house suggests the direction is south by southwest area of the house.
Since the Moon is in Aquarius, it would be near some type of electronics or equipment, utilitarian furniture, eaves, uneven ground, or concrete. Aquarius is an air sign, which can mean high up or possibly on the second floor.
Our search yielded nothing. Uranus, the dispositor of the Moon in Aquarius, is squaring the Moon, suggesting it will be a surprise. Uranus suggests tech or equipment, which I thought might be near her computer in the office.
Then we thought they might have been accidentally taken by my son, who has been living with us for a bit, and we assumed he took them by accident while moving out. The south side of our house has a walkway with uneven pavement. We looked around the house to the driveway in the back, but they weren’t there. My wife was convinced my son accidentally took them as he was moving out. However, my son would be the fifth house (children) from the seventh (spouse – me) or the eleventh. The eleventh house has Aries on the cusp and makes Mars the ruler. Mars has no connection to the Moon. I was not convinced my son had them, but they haven’t turned up yet, so it may be possible. He was in the middle of the move, so we had to wait for him to get back to us.
It was lunchtime, and I was going to make myself a grilled cheese sandwich. The sink had dirty dishes in it, and I needed to unload the dishwasher, which had clean dishes in it. I open the door…….
Using the local space chart from Alphee Lavoie’s Millennium Star Trax program, if you stand in the centre of the house and look towards the position of the Moon, the ruler of the object in this chart, the glasses should be in that direction. The chart suggests the glasses would be south by southwest. In my house they would be either on the vanity of the second-floor bathroom or on the kitchen counter or possibly under the counter. Who would have thought in the dishwasher?!?!
The square of the chaotic, unusual Uranus to the Moon definitely singled out the oddity of finding the spectacles in the dishwasher!
Some might ask why I didn’t take the Ascendant and use the seventh house as my wife. The reason is that it was my wife who asked me, the astrologer, to perform the horary for her, making her the querent. If she was looking for them and I decided to cast the horary, it would have been me as the Ascendant, she the Descendant, and the glasses the eighth house cusp, the second from the seventh.
